Well not exactly. Colorado Republican Secretary of State candidate Scott Gessler was at the top of a 28 story building and was given two options for getting down to the ground. He could take the stairs, or he could go over the edge.
Gessler opted to go over the edge – and all for a good cause – fighting cancer.
Currently, Gessler is the only declared Republican candidate for Secretary of State in Colorado to take on incumbent Democrat Bernie Buescher. Buescher is a former state representative who was appointed to the seat in early 2009 by Democrat Governor Bill Ritter to fill a vacancy created by Republican Mike Coffman’s election to the U.S. House.
Not a lot of polling in a race like this, but he did win a straw poll of Republican activists back in April. He’s a well known election lawyer in Colorado, a former federal prosecutor and an Army veteran – a resume that lines up very well for the office of secretary of state, or any other office in the future Gessler might have his eye on.
A rising star to watch.
