Tennessee Republican Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey must’ve broken some kind of Tennessee political fundraising record when he raked in over $1 million ($1.3 million actually) for his campaign for Governor in basically “12 days”. That’s pretty eye popping. Ramsey had announced his campaign months ago, but was legally forbidden from raising any campaign bucks until June 1. We guess the fast talking auctioneer, that’s his other job, knows a thing or to about squeezing as many words into a pitch to make every money meeting worthwhile.
Ramsey faces Congressman Zach Wamp, Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam and Shelby County District Attorney Bill Gibbons in the August 2010 Republican primary.
