Florida Straw Poll Buzz

It’s going to be a long primary campaign in Florida for the open U.S. Senate seat down there.  Via the Tampa Bay Buzz.

Tonight it was in Hernando County, Charlie Crist’s back yard and Bill McCollum’s native county. The tally was 46 for Marco Rubio, zero for Charlie Crist.

“I’m surprised but I’m not surprised,” said party chairman Blaise Ingoglia, stressing the motion for the straw vote came from the floor, not the leadership. “They believe in Marco Rubio’s message and his values. The people in Hernando County tend to be a little more conservative.”

Increasing Name ID – One Tweet at a Time

Here’s one from Florida from a Democrat (with no name ID) who aspires to higher office directed at Florida Governor Charlie Crist (who has higher name ID).  The no name ID Dem won’t be running against Charlie Crist directly, but knocking the Republican governor around – even if it’s w/a tweet – makes those in the base, who read the blogs and Twitter feeds, smile a little.  And makes the Dem feel like he’s doing something to help his campaign.  Maybe.

Cool find, and thanks to Miami News Times.

Rapid Response in Action

Florida Republican U.S. Senate candidate Marco Rubio had this web video to respond to his primary opponent’s (that would be Florida Governor Charlie Crist) comments on CNBC last week regarding Florida’s increase in unemployment, heightening foreclosure rates, and population declines.  Yes, Florida’s in for a stormy GOP primary that won’t wrap up until late August 2010.  At what point does Rubio’s candidacy (and his hits on Charlie Crist) result in a response from team Crist?

No talent hacks?

This is hands down, the worst spot ever – by either political party.  But we’re not the only ones who think so.
